Researcher’s home page
Purpose
The client wanted a home page to disseminate information about herself, her research projects and teaching history to other interested scientists, as well as to potential students and field assistants.
Look and feel
This site reflects the personality of the client, and features imagery that is tied to her research — chaparral and the valley oak (Quercus lobata). These very clearly demonstrate that the client is a field biologist. The inclusion of the client’s photos as part of the design allow her to show her commitment to including students in her research.
Site features
The main feature of this site is its simplicity. Scientists are somewhat famous for having overly-complicated though processes, even when it’s unnecessary. By keeping the site structure simple, it makes information easy to find, and sets visitors at ease.
